Maine-Iac Divers

MISSION
The Maine-iacs dive club has been in existence since 2001. The group's purpose is to promote an active scuba diving community enjoying local and remote waters in a safe and supportive manner. Divers of all abilities and experience levels are included and welcomed. We seek to be ambassadors of our home state and stewards of the waters and sites we enjoy. We are always on the lookout for opportunities to share and learn more about all that diving has to offer.

MEETINGS
Due to Covid-19 and until further changes the club continues to meet on the second Tuesday of every month in the form of a ZOOM meeting. Meetings start at 7:00 PM and run an hour or more depending on activity. Please watch the club Facebook page for meeting announcements and an the connection link. Join with audio or video from your home computer or mobile device. We hope you can join us. It's free!

Meetings are mostly about divers, new and seasoned getting together to make the most of our diving. We get to know each other, which really makes for a better experience than just meeting up at a dive site for a first time. We get to relive our dives, share observations and ask about sites we never went to. We talk about club resources and plan events. We explain how we plan dives and communicate on Facebook, and decide when might be good dive opportunities. We schedule special event dives, sometimes we have a guest speaker. We get to talk about our challenges and get ideas. We talk about a lot of the things nobody teaches in dive classes. Members often share photos, videos or slide shows of their dive trips. If you are planning to go to a destination many nights somebody in the room can give you their first-hand observations.

Dues have been suspended so don't hesiotate to join in and be part of it all.
